Kitchen Remodel Near Chino

Kitchen Remodel Portfolio Entry: Outdated to Outstanding!

The initial scope of the project was to open up Tashi and Clark’s kitchen, which was cramped, boxy, and outdated. The kitchen featured shiny cabinets in a color somewhere between tobacco and cherry, paired with black marble countertops that had clearly seen better days. The stark contrast with the white ceiling and walls, along with light natural maple floors, created a design nightmare. Tashi and Clark had a clear vision for what they wanted. They expressed their desire for a custom kitchen remodel near Chino that was open to the living areas and much brighter. They also wanted to incorporate their deck and pool area into the kitchen design without fully merging the spaces. This led us to the idea of designing a serving window and bar that would connect the kitchen to the patio seamlessly.

This is a picture of a renovated kitchen we did in Chino.

The Design and Planning Phase

To achieve their vision for a custom kitchen remodel in Chino, we decided to knock down the kitchen walls and utilize some of the living space to place a large island where the entire family could gather. It took us three revisions to land on a design that Tashi and Clark loved, but their enthusiasm and clear feedback made the process enjoyable.

Challenges We Encountered During the Kitchen Remodel

The renovation came with its own set of challenges. When we started, Tashi was eight months pregnant. Ensuring her safety and health, as well as that of her unborn child, became our top priority. We implemented extra safety precautions, such as taping off entryways to other rooms to minimize dust and disruption.

Another significant challenge was making their dream of a vaulted ceiling a reality. Our initial engineer had concerns about whether the house’s foundation and framing could support the vaulted ceiling and refused to take responsibility for the plans. Determined to make Tashi and Clark’s vision for a custom kitchen remodel in Chino come true, we advised them to seek out a different engineer who might be willing to approve the plans. After some searching, they found an engineer who signed off on the plans, which required a steel beam for support. To help ease the additional cost, we offered them a $6,500 discount on the plans.

The Transformation

Ultimately, the plans were approved, and we were able to create a beautiful open-concept kitchen with a stunning vaulted ceiling. The serving window and bar perfectly tied the kitchen to the outdoor patio, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The Kitchen Remodel

Kitchen island and custom chandeliers in Chino, California.

This beautifully renovated kitchen is a perfect blend of modern elegance and functional design. The centerpiece of the space is a large, sleek island topped with a pristine, white marble countertop. The island provides ample workspace and includes two stylish gold faucets and sinks, adding a touch of luxury. Three custom pendant chandeliers with smooth, white shades hang above the island, casting a warm and inviting glow over the area.

The cabinetry features clean lines and a mix of white and natural wood tones, offering both storage and aesthetic appeal. The white upper cabinets extend to the ceiling, creating a seamless look, while the lower cabinets and the island have a soft, natural wood finish that adds warmth to the space. These cabinets not only provide generous storage but also house state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, ensuring both style and functionality.

The backsplash is composed of glossy, light-colored tiles that complement the overall bright and airy atmosphere of the kitchen. The light tiles reflect the natural light, enhancing the spacious feel of the room. High-end stainless steel appliances, including a state-of-the-art range with a custom range hood, integrate seamlessly into the design, providing both style and functionality.

Adding to the luxurious feel, all fixtures in the kitchen are finished in elegant gold. From the faucet to the cabinet handles, these gold accents add a touch of sophistication and glamour to the space. The gold fixtures perfectly match the sleek, modern design of the kitchen, creating a cohesive and polished look.
