Japandi-Style Bathroom – West Covina

We are thrilled to unveil the completion of a remarkable bathroom remodeling project for our clients, Helen and Mathias, nestled in the vibrant heart of West Covina, CA.

This project is a testament to our commitment to blending aesthetics with functionality, creating a sanctuary that resonates with tranquility and minimalist elegance. The journey from the initial concept to the final reveal has been an exhilarating process, and we’re excited to share the story of this transformation.

The Vision

Helen and Mathias approached us with a clear vision in mind: to transform their dated bathroom into a serene retreat that echoed the principles of Japandi style. Japandi, a hybrid aesthetic that marries the minimalist elegance of Japanese design with the cozy warmth of Scandinavian interiors, was the perfect choice for their remodeling project.

They wanted a space that not only served as a functional bathroom but also as a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The Challenge

The original bathroom was a relic of the past, with outdated fixtures, dull colors, and cramped spaces. The challenge was to completely overhaul the space, infusing it with light, warmth, and a sense of openness, all while adhering to the Japandi aesthetic.

The project required meticulous planning and a keen eye for detail to ensure that every element aligned with the overall theme.

The Transformation

Their vision was brought to life through an in-depth consultation and the utilization of advanced 3D design technology. This process was pivotal, allowing them to visualize the proposed remodel in a realistic, virtual environment before any physical changes were made.

It facilitated a collaborative design process, enabling the selection of materials that embodied the essence of Japandi style. The shower walls were adorned with Ribbon Maple porcelain wood look-like tiles, providing a natural texture that contrasts beautifully with the sleek, modern feel of the space. For the floors, we chose Ristretto Ice White porcelain 24×24 tiles, offering a crisp, clean foundation that amplifies the sense of spaciousness.

The centerpiece of the bathroom is the North American Oak vanity, crowned with a White Integral Composite Stone Top. This piece not only serves as a functional storage solution but also as a stunning visual anchor that ties the room together. Its natural wood tones and simple lines are quintessentially Japandi, blending harmoniously with the rest of the decor.

The Reveal

The transformation of Helen and Mathias’s bathroom is nothing short of breathtaking. What was once a cramped and outdated space is now a bright, airy sanctuary that exudes calm and sophistication. The juxtaposition of natural materials and minimalist design elements creates a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
