Home Rebuild in Echo Park

The first time Natalie walked through this house, she could see past the outdated finishes and tired layout. She saw morning coffee with hillside views. She saw dinner parties in a kitchen that actually worked. She saw home.

We saw something a little different – a house that had given what it could, but needed more than a refresh. The kind of project where you don’t just update, we saw a new home rebuild in Echo Park.

Starting Over (The Right Way)

Here’s the thing about older homes in LA: they’ve got character, but they’ve also got decades of patch jobs, code workarounds, and systems that are just… tired. This house was no exception.

So we took it down to the studs. New foundation work. New framing. Electrical and plumbing that won’t need another look for the next 50 years. All the stuff you don’t see in the finished photos, but makes the difference between a house that looks good and one that actually works.

Natalie had a clear vision from day one – a black and white, modern home that still honored Echo Park’s character. She didn’t want to erase the home’s history, she wanted to blend it with something fresh. Instead of removing all those beautiful craftsman details that give the space soul, we kept and refinished them.

Bringing in the Views (and the Light)

One of Natalie’s biggest priorities in this home rebuild in Echo Park was capturing those Echo Park hillside views she fell in love with initially when she purchased the house.

We added a wall of bi-fold doors in the back living room that open completely to frame the hills. It transformed the space – suddenly the living room felt twice as big, and natural light poured straight through to the kitchen. No more dark, closed-off rooms. Just open and bright space that connects to the views outside.

The Stuff You Notice

You know how sometimes you walk into a space and just feel like everything… fits? That’s what we were going for here.

The herringbone tile in the bathroom that wraps around just right. The built-in wine bar that looks like it was always supposed to be there. The way those original wood columns stand proud against crisp white walls and bold black trim – old and new, working together.

None of this happens by accident. It’s listening, planning, and working with people who give a damn about the details.

If You're Rebuilding

Maybe you’re in Altadena or the Palisades, staring at a foundation and trying to figure out where to even start. Or maybe you’ve got a house that needs more help than a contractor with a pickup truck can offer.

This is what we do. From foundation to finishes. Permits to final walkthrough. The big structural stuff and the small details that make it yours.

And yeah, we’ll actually keep you in the loop. You’ll know what’s happening, what’s next, and why. No construction-guy runaround, no disappearing for weeks at a time. Just honest communication and work we’re proud to put our name on.
